County Market, Champaign, IL
The existing supermarket requested HDC to provide a design and bid documents for the installation of an UST system. The "service station" is being used as a "service station" for supermarket customers. The UST system totaled 25.000 gallons in product capacity and is contained in 3 tanks. One tank has a dual compartment totaling 10,000 gallons. It is divided into 1 compartment of 6000 gallons of premium blend gasoline; the other compartment contains 4000 gallons of diesel. The 15,000 gallon capacity tank is used for unleaded gasoline.

The tanks are double walled fiberglass. OPW spill containment and overfill devices were installed on all tanks. The product piping was Environ 2" double wall. 4 Gilbarco dispensers with 8 hoses were installed. The tanks were anchored to "deadmen" concrete slabs to ensure stability. Prior to commencing installation, boreholes were advanced to determine soil structure and soil environmental conditions.

The UST system contains a Veeder Root automatic tank gauging program with leak detection alarms. Dispensers are protected by a 96' X 28' canopy; elaborate landscaping, curbing, and traffic patterns were designed and implemented in the installation.

Niemann Foods, Inc., Quincy, IL
Designed, planned, and implemented contract bid documents for an unattended UST system for food chain to include three USTs, eight dispensers, canopy, site development, soil sampling, and provided general oversight for entire project.
